Peter Murphy lives and paints in the
picturesque area of the Dordogne river in south-west France.
His recent Perigord watercolour paintings capture the
vibrant colours and life of the area.
Peter has travelled extensively,
particularly to the Middle East where he has widely
exhibited. He has been a practising artist for many years
and his experience is evident by the confidence and speed in which
he paints. Often using a limited palette, he achieves astonishing
results with his intuitive and fresh approach. He is
happy painting the ever changing landscapes on his travels and in
the local area, but equally at home finding inspiration
from small details and still-lives.
For those of you who envy his
talents, Peter Murphy is available to teach watercolour techniques for painting holidays, where he
will be pleased to pass on his knowledge, guide you in your own
work, and take you some of his favourite locations in
this rich and historical area. Please visit the 'Courses'
page for details of these and other work-shops.
